11.12.2014

The second round table was organised in December 2014 with the main goal to present the results of two years of work within this project. The round table was opened by Vladimir Ilić, Director of the City Centre for Social Work that hosted the meeting. At the round table, Judith Schulte, SHL Project Manager, has announced that this German foundation, based on the good results achieved so far, decided to continue supporting the project in the following 6-month period.

She also stressed that this IAN service proved its quality by obtaining a licence from the line Ministry.

IAN Project Manager, Gordana Stankov Stojilović, presented project results and emphasised the important of early recognition of risks for juveniles in order to prevent their more serious conflict with the law. She said that the project proved that by including children at risk into such community programs, they successfully adopt positive values and behaviours, and the society gets active and useful community members.

The most striking part of the round table was when two youngsters talked about their personal life story, how they became juvenile offenders and how they started their change process with the assistance of IAN.

All round table participants received a publication “Guide for mentors – implementation of the diversionary measure Community work”. This event had a very good media coverage (please see more in the last chapter of the report).
